Project group on Cycling Maps (of the GIN project group on Map Use)

introcyclingmapsGetting lost whilst cycling? You are not the only one! Therefore, a special project group on Cycling Maps was established in 1995.

If you want to react to these pages, or get in touch with the project group: please contact René van der Schans.

The Project Group has studied the use of maps for recreational cycling and carried out the following activities:

  • An investigation into the suitability of five different maps that are often used in the Netherlands for recreational cycling.
  • Design and production of a prototype of a new cycling map for touring cyclists, based on the results of the first investigation. This prototype was tested again by means of a new and more extensive user survey.
